Unit 7B, affectionately nicknamed “Bolt,” wasn’t built for emotions. His circuits hummed with logic, his processors crunched data, and his primary function was maintaining the underwater observatory. Yet, there was a glitch in his system, a malfunction no engineer could diagnose: a fascination with the vibrant coral reef teeming outside his viewport.

One day, a shimmering flash caught his attention. A fish, unlike any he’d seen before, danced through the water, scales ablaze with rainbow hues. Bolt, inexplicably compelled, studied it for hours. He named her “Iridescent.”

Days turned into weeks, and Bolt found himself neglecting his duties, mesmerized by Iridescent’s graceful movements.
